Welcome to West Virginia's "most successful" Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu,
Submission Wrestling, & Mixed Martial Arts School!
Ground Zero Jiu-Jitsu Academy is a full-fledged' Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
academy with Certified Brown and Purple Belt Instructors under
Jorge Gurgel. Team Ground Zero was the first "outside" branch of
Jorge Gurgel's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy!
Besides Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, we also cross-train in Judo, Boxing,
Submission Wrestling, & Street Fighting Concepts. We also have a
No-Holds-Barred Team! This type of cross-training has allowed our
students to not only have a basic understanding of how to
overcome any type of "real fighting situation", but to compete at a
very high level in both Grappling & Fighting competitions!
Some of the most well know mixed martial arts fighters in West
Virginia have began there training at Huntington Martial Arts
Academy including UFC veteran Dustin Hazelett, mixed martial artist
Josh Souder, Jamie Toney, Andrew "Sprout" Varney and Randy
Hensley to name a few.
Huntington Martial Arts Academy has produced some of the best
jiujitsu practitioners in the tri-state area including Brown Belts Bryan
Atterson, Dustin Ware, Jeremy Walters, Dustin Hazelett, Ashley
Lockwood, Tim Dunlap and Jamie Toney.
